Where are we based?

We are based in Melbourne and have access to offices Australia wide.

Who are our clients?

Our clients cover Australia and range from large multi-national chartered accounting firms to small solo accounting and financial planning practices. We provide the same high standards and low costs to all clients, no matter how large or small.

What technical support do we provide?

Our technical support is virtually unlimited. McMasters’ has more than 80 professional staff located in Melbourne and Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam, and our accountants, financial planners and solicitors are amongst the most experienced in Australia. Ring our principal, Terry McMaster, on 03 9583 6533 or e-mail terry@mcmasters.com.au and we will do our best to help you get on track with your clients’ technical concerns.

And if we cannot help you, we probably know someone who can.

Why are our prices so low?

Our prices are so low because we have created a fully automated document preparation system which does not rely on costly labour to complete the documents and deliver them to you.

We pass this cost saving on to you, and to your clients.

Who reviews our documents?

Our documents have been used by thousands of accountants, solicitors and financial planners around Australia. We constantly up-date our documents in response to client questions and requests.

The McMasters’ legal team is primarily responsible for quality controlling our documents, and as an additional quality control we review them regularly with outside counsel.

What form are the documents in?

The documents are delivered to your PC’s in-box in electronic form, with your firm’s logo (if uploaded) and ready to be provided to your clients for signing. SMSFs and trusts are virtually instantaneous.

Orders involving companies take a bit longer due to the need to liaise with ASIC. Normally company orders are completed the same day, but occasionally orders placed late in the day or after 5.00pm are not completed until early the next morning.

What if I am not happy with my documents?

First, let us know of your concerns and if at all possible we will amend the documents to meet your expectations. If this does not help we will refund your fee (except for ASIC disbursements) under our unique money back guarantee. This guarantee has never been invoked, and we expect it never will. But its there to protect you and to make sure you are happy with our service and our documents.

Can I use my own logo on the documents?

Yes you can. We believe our documents should market your firm to your clients, so your logo features prominently on all documents and allows you to present to your own clients.

If you need assistance uploading your logo please contact Jon at jon@legaledocs.com.au

Can Legal E Docs handle large bulky orders?

Yes we can. In fact we pioneered this type of project. Examples include:

(i)                  amending all client trust deeds to comply with changing ATO requirements without triggering a re-settlement of the deed;

(ii)                amending all client SMSF deeds to comply with changes to the superannuation law: recommended every three years; or

(iii)               amending all client company constitutions to comply with changing ASIC requirements.

Legaledocs can handle projects like this for you from go to whoa, including providing standard letters to send to clients to explain the changes and the reason for it. Most accounting or financial planning firms will charge at least $300 plus GST for facilitating an amending deed, and after our cost of $90 this leaves $210 profit per client. Some clients have made more than $100,000 extra profit through this exercise.

Does Legal E Docs provide SMSF back office services?

Yes. Legaledocs provides SMSF back office services to accountants and financial planners. This is a complete service covering all compliance responsibilities including preparing the annual accounts and related documents, the annual ATO return, audit and tax compliance.

This back office service is offered to all accounts and financial planners and is a great way of developing a low cost and low risk SMSF administration practice.

Legaledocs, via McMasters’ Accountants, can do it all for you.
